Storage and Maintenance Methods for Outer Rotor Fans

Date:2026-05-30 View:101

1. Fan Storage Specifications (New Fans / Long-term Shutdown Storage)

Proper storage methods can effectively prevent outer rotor fans from moisture corrosion, blade deformation, bearing jamming and insulation aging, ensuring intact equipment performance after long-term storage. The detailed specifications are as follows:
1.1 Environmental Requirements
Store the fans indoors in a dry, ventilated, dust-free environment free of corrosive gases. Outdoor storage under direct sunlight, rain exposure or humid water-logged conditions is strictly prohibited. Keep the ambient temperature steadily between -5℃~40℃ to avoid component cracking caused by extreme cold and insulation aging accelerated by high temperature. Maintain low ambient humidity to prevent condensation that may lead to motor short circuit and rusting.
1.2 Overall Machine Protection
Before storage, clean dust, debris and water stains on the fan surface, blades and air ducts to ensure the whole machine is clean and dry. Apply anti-rust oil evenly on exposed metal parts and rotating shafts to avoid oxidation and corrosion during long-term static placement. Fully wrap the entire fan with dust-proof film or cloth to completely cover the fan guard, motor, terminal box and other parts for isolation from dust and moisture. Strictly protect the impeller from extrusion, collision and heavy stacking to prevent blade deformation and dynamic balance failure.
1.3 Electrical Protection
Seal and block terminal boxes and cable interfaces to prevent dust and water vapor from entering the circuit, so as to avoid insulation aging, electric leakage and short circuit faults. Protect the ends of unconnected cables to prevent oxidation and damage.
1.4 Regular Static Maintenance (Core Key Point)
Long-term static placement of fans will cause solidification of bearing grease, static rotor jamming and slight spindle deformation. Manually rotate the impeller several turns every 1 to 2 months to ensure even bearing lubrication and flexible rotor operation. Rotate the impeller by 180 degrees every 3 months to offset slight spindle deformation caused by gravity and guarantee the dynamic balance accuracy of the fan.
